OF OUR TOP 3 COMPETITORS PERFORMING KATAS

The training at Rine Karate Studio involves, among other things, katas, fighting techniques and self-defense.  Other than at a black belt test, a student's abilities - both physical and mental - can be displayed at no better place than in a tournament atmosphere.  Crowds, noise, peer pressure and performing in front of several martial arts masters all add to a student's accomplishments.  Tournaments are pressure packed situations that build discipline and confidence.  They teach students the joy of victory and, more importantly, how to handle defeat.  For these reasons students are encouraged, but are not required, to participate.

The Competitor Of The Year program awards students who participate in the tournament circuit around the tri-state area.  Points are accumulated based on how they finish in each category of competition.  The inner-school tournament points are included in the totals as well.  Family, friends and fellow students are all invited to an annual presentation of all the award winners, who receive trophies for placing 1st, 2nd or 3rd in total accumulated points within their division.  As proud as the students are of their own accomplishments, everyone in attendance feels the same pride knowing how hard the students worked to achieve their goals.
